(1) 2 RTR joined 20 Armoured Brigade in 1952, replacing 8 RTR.
(2) Arrived after a two year tour of duty as the RAC Centre Regiment. Initially roled as an armoured regiment on Chieftains, but in 1977 converted to the Armoured Recce Role on CVR/T. The 7 years spent here in Münster were packed with tours of NI. The unit left in May 1979 for a 18 month tour in Omagh Northern Ireland, then to Wolfenbüttel in Nov 1980.
(3) Amalgamating with 14th/20th King’s Hussars, York Barracks, Münster in 1992.
