BFBS Köln which relocated from Hamburg in 1954. It was situated in the Marienburg district of the City which was also home to Number 6 Civilian Mess. The image above is circa 1966.

Possibly as the results of the heavy bombing raids during World War2 there was never a significant military presence in the actual city however in 1954/6 the studios of the British Forces Network (future BFBS) moved there from Hamburg as part of the reorganisation of BAOR following the signing of the German Peace Treaty. The studios closed in the early 1990s following a further reorganisation and rationalisation of BFBS.
