Based here in late 1947 were the following REME units (hence the name of the Barracks).

9 Lt Wksp Coy
81 Local Manufacturing Unit
1 X Ray Repair Unit

There were 235 REME soldiers based here with 1600 civilians being fed here daily. The Barracks is presumed to be the former Panzer Division Depot in the Rahlstedt suburb of Hamburg.
