Bochum is situated approximately halfway between Essen and Dortmund, and much of the inner part of the City was destroyed during WW2. Details to hand are extremely sparse, and have been gathered from various trawlings of the Internet, and information in an e-mail that was investigated.
In common with many other villages, towns, and cities in Occupied Europe, there were at least two Displaced Persons Camps in Bochum. Were these the origin of Larkhill Barracks, or did they form part of the Barracks?
Any further information, memories and/or photographs will be most welcome.
