I served with the RMP 4 Gds Bde, No 2 section, at Wuppertal. Our Duty Room was at Bangor Barracks, which housed 111 Coy RASC (GW) across the road was Sagen Kaserne the home of a Bundeswehr Signals training depot. As you left Bangor Barracks and turned to the left for about a mile, you came to Harding Barracks and the Green Jackets RB. About half a mile further on you came to another barracks, of which the name escapes me after all these years, but in 1961 it was the home of the Loyal Regt, they moved out in 1962 and were replaced with the Prince of Wales Own Regt of Yorkshire (the Powow's).

This photo was taken from the RMP duty room, and the entrance opposite is to the offices of the RASC 111Coy (GW - Guided Weapons).

The photo above was taken on the autobahn, outside the Windmill Cafe YMCA.  The wagon in the background is a three ton Bedford , the good old standby for the British Army in BAOR. The one immediately behind us is an Austin fifteen cwt (Loadmaster) lorry and in front was a Austin Champ and trailer. The Red Cap on the left is Tony Cathie, its me (Malcolm Smith) in the middle and on the right is Alan Norris.
